You can borrow and SHARE seeds at 12+ seed libraries in Central Texas.
Austin Public Library Branches
Bring us seeds, any seeds. Yes, even seeds you bought or seeds in pods or flower heads. Include their name, year of harvest, and “for the Seed Collection” on a securely closed package. Leave donations at the circulation desks or in the book drops. You can borrow seeds from each branch listed below by filling out a short form. No library card needed.

University of Texas at Austin Seed Swap in the UT Tower by the Herbarium
Austin Nature and Science Center 2389 Stratford Dr. Austin, TX 78746 (seed library is located in our visitor’s pavilion) Austin Nature and Science Center wants encouraging native seeds and also “adapted” garden/food seeds as well. People can bring in seeds with stems etc., and pre cleaned and packed seeds are always welcome . People just bring their seeds to the front desk (across from the library) and fill out a form. To check out seeds they can just fill out the check out list and take up to 2 packets per visit.
Lakeway MUD Customer Service Office. Seed library is open to the public during our regular business hours. Native/pollinator garden on site.

Farm is set back on the east side of campus. Farm hours are from 3:30pm til dusk Monday-Friday and dawn til dusk on Saturday and Sunday. The seed mailbox is currently turquoise.
